Vidya Jagat Sponsors Child for Heart Surgery

Vidya Jagat Cancer Foundation, in association with Studds, proudly extended its compassionate support towards the life-saving treatment of baby Kanishka, a brave 6-year-old girl diagnosed with a rare and complex congenital heart condition. Her medical case was particularly critical, involving Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries (cTGA) along with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Atresia—conditions that required immediate and highly specialized pediatric cardiac intervention.

Understanding the severity and urgency of her condition, the foundation, along with Studds, stepped forward to ensure that Kanishka received the best possible treatment without delay. She was referred to the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, where a team of expert pediatric cardiac specialists carefully evaluated her condition and planned a Fontan Completion Surgery—a complex and advanced procedure designed for children with single-ventricle heart defects to improve blood circulation and oxygenation in the body.

With the combined expertise of the medical team, advanced infrastructure, and timely support from the sponsoring organizations, Kanishka successfully underwent the Fontan Completion Surgery. This critical intervention marked a major milestone in her journey towards recovery, giving her a renewed chance at a healthier and more active life.

This noble initiative reflects the shared commitment of Vidya Jagat Cancer Foundation and Studds towards saving young lives, supporting families in need, and ensuring that no child is deprived of quality healthcare due to financial constraints.
